Teddy Bears' Picnic 2011
On 9th July, Medway Cloth Nappy Network celebrated their 5th birthday with Medway NCT at the 5th annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic. The weather was kind to us and about 30 families gathered at St Alban’s Church on Blue Bell Hill for fun and games, including a best-dressed bear competition, a Jo Jingles session, stories and outdoor play and plenty of cake, of course! Our wonderful treasurer Dawn revealed her hidden face talent for face painting and all the bears enjoyed their special day.
At the end of the party, we drew the raffle, handing out almost 30 prizes to excited winners, as well as prizes for other competitions.
We had a wonderful teddy bear cake made for us specially by Vicki of Boucakes. As all the families gathered on the field to enjoy their picnics, the cake was shared out and everyone was reluctant to leave.
If you’d like more information about cloth nappies, or want to find out why and how they work for so many of our members, please do contact Jenny (jenny@medwayclothnappies.org.uk), visit our Facebook group or come along to a nappucino coffee morning (1st Monday morning each month) or the Saturday drop-in group which is run in partnership with NCT Medway.
